Hello!

The Florida Section encompasses the Pan Handle and the Central Part of the state to the east coast down to Melbourne.

This section of Florida has 7 USPSA approved clubs within it. Some of these clubs are among the oldest established clubs in the state.

The clubs in the Section are: Tallahassee Rifle & Pistol Club, Tallahassee, Southeast Practical Shooting Association,Fernandina Beach , St. Augustine Practical Shooting Association, St.Augustine, Central Florida Rifle & Pistol Club, Orlando, Space Coast Practical Shooting Association, Mims, Ancient City Practical Shooting Association and Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club, Melbourne.

USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) is a scenario based handgun competition, with its roots in practicality. Matches are made up of 5 stages, all different from one another. Round count on stages will vary from as few as 12 to as many as 32. Stages are timed and the competitors must safely maneuver through the stages accumulating points, which will be divided by your time, giving you a stage score. The accumulation of the 5 stage scores will produce a match score.

Volusia County Practical Shooting Club

Volusia County Practical Shooting Club

We are proud to announce that our second US Practical Shooting match will be starting August 28th, 2010 and repeating the 4th Saturday of the month at the Volusia County Gun & Hunt Club.
Anyone with a pistol or revolver of a caliber 9mm or larger may shoot. You will also need a holster that covers the trigger guard and at least two magazine pouches for your spare ammo to reload from. An average stage can run between 12-36 rounds, but we plan to keep it lower in the hotter months so everyone can enjoy it. To be safe bring 200 rounds of ammo. Please help spread the word out to other shooters.
We will have 6 stages with walls, doors, cars, moving targets, metal plates, swingers, and plenty of challenging stages to test your shooting. Here's a really informative video of what Practical Shooting is all about but don't be intimidated by the guns used by the pro's. USPSA has several divisions that allow for ANY type of firearm to compete, each with separate classes so you’re always shooting against someone of your own speed and ability.
I've asked veteran professional pistol shooter, and club member David Pruitt, to be the Match Director and provide courses of fire for our matches. I'm sure they'll be challenging and lots of fun! THE MONSTER MATCH OCTOBER 29-31, 2010 at Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, FL.

I’m sure between all the lists we have around the state some of us are going to get this email a couple times…I sorta apologize but not really as I need your help to get the word out. Let’s FILL this sucker!

I’m excited to announce the match is back this year and hopefully will become an annual event. It’s funny, I had people asking for a couple years when and if the match would be back…now I have a lot of folks telling me that was one of the first big matches they ever shot and want it back. Or I have folks saying it was before they started shooting, heard great things about and would love to try it. I hope to make you all happy.
